| Objectives: | The purpose of this study is to implement the most cost-effective techniques for improving bridge deck life through the reduction of cracking. The work involves cooperation between state departments of transportation, cement companies, contractors and designers. |

| Comments: | A minimum contribution of $70,000 is requested from each partner. The contribution may be committed over several fiscal years. The KU Transportation Research Institute has committed an additional $500,000, and BASF Construction Chemicals and the Silica Fume Association have each pledged $50,000, bringing total project funding to over $1.5M. |
